Mikul?ice : Czech Republic

Mikul?ice is a village in the Czech Republic, in South Moravian Region near the town of Hodonn, close to the border with Slovakia. Population: 1880 (2004). It is known for being near an important archeological site: a Great Moravian (Early Medieval) fortified settlement, which was probably the capital of Great Moravia. The village has a biospheric reserve in the vicinity, containing beavers, stork nests etc.
