Culture
Dublin is a major cultural centre in Ireland. Temple Bar is an important place for night life and often people from Britain and beyond visit for the weekend. The city also has a growing gay community, though homosexuality was only legalised in 1992 following a case in the European Court.
Dublin is the origin of some prominent artists and writers. Dubliners is a collection of short stories by James Joyce about incidents and characters typical of residents of the city in the early part of the 20th century. Ulysses, also by James Joyce, a novel set in Dublin, is full of topographical detail and is both acclaimed and controversial.
The National Print Museum of Ireland, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Ireland, the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, the Chester Beatty Library and three centers of the National Museum of Ireland are located in Dublin.

Stillorgan (Stigh Lorgan in Irish), formerly a town in its own right, is an area of Dublin city in Ireland, in south County Dublin. The area is now part of the conurbation that is Greater Dublin, and is home to many housing estates, shops and other facilities. The first shopping centre to be built in Ireland opened in Stillorgan in 1966. The N11 road leads out from the city, through Stillorgan towards Bray. The campus of University College Dublin is only slightly further in towards the city centre.

Sutton is a residential suburb of Dublin, Ireland. It is located about 12km from the city's center at the base of the Howth peninsula. It is a tombolo and connects Howth to the mainland (Howth used to be an island). It is surrounded by many beaches and is popular with golfers. Sutton is easily accessible from Dublin using the Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) suburban rail system.
Edgeworthstown (Meathas Troim in Irish) is a market town in County Longford, Ireland. It is situated at the intersection of the N4 Dublin-Sligo and N55 Cavan-Athlone roads. The town has a railway station on the Dublin–Sligo railway line which gives it a vital link to Dublin. Industries include animal feed processing and pet food manufacturing.
Ranelagh (Irish Raghnallach) is a residential area and township on the southside of Dublin city, Ireland. It is in the postal district of Dublin 6. It is one of the city's most expensive areas (second only to Dublin 4, according to an ESRI survey in 2002[1]), boasting fine Georgian and Victorian townhouses.
The district was originally a village just outside Dublin city until it was swallowed up by the expanding city more than a century ago. It still has a village-like atmosphere with many small family-run shops, especially around the triangular intersection ("the Triangle") that marks its centre.

Rathcoole (Rath Cúil in Irish) is a village to the south-west of Dublin City in theRepublic of Ireland and situated in South Dublin County. It has a population of approximately 800 people.
