There is a vibrant night life in Dublin the main centre for this is in the Temple Bar area south of the Liffey. This area has become synonymous with stag and hen parties and tourists, causing many locals to steer clear of the area.
There are several theatres within the city centre, the largest of which include including the Abbey Theatre, the Gate Theatre, the Olympia Theatre, and the Gaiety Theatre, which opens its doors after the evening theatre production to host a variety of live music, dancing, and films. The Gaiety’s bars are open later than any others in the city.
The UGC cinema complex is located north of the Liffey. Alternative and special-interest cinema can be found in the Irish Film Centre in Temple Bar, and in the Screen Cinema on d’Olier St.

Stillorgan (Stigh Lorgan in Irish), formerly a town in its own right, is an area of Dublin city in Ireland, in south County Dublin. The area is now part of the conurbation that is Greater Dublin, and is home to many housing estates, shops and other facilities. The town has a railway station on the Dublin–Sligo railway line which gives it a vital link to Dublin. Industries include animal feed processing and pet food manufacturing.
Ranelagh (Irish Raghnallach) is a residential area and township on the southside of Dublin city, Ireland. It is in the postal district of Dublin 6. It is one of the city's most expensive areas (second only to Dublin 4, according to an ESRI survey in 2002[1]), boasting fine Georgian and Victorian townhouses.
The district was originally a village just outside Dublin city until it was swallowed up by the expanding city more than a century ago. It still has a village-like atmosphere with many small family-run shops, especially around the triangular intersection ("the Triangle") that marks its centre.
