Sundbyberg : Sweden

Sundbyberg is a Municipality in Stockholm County, in central Sweden. With an area of 8.8 km, it is the smallest municipality in Sweden by size. Basically all the inhabitants of the municipality are located to one town. The town is part of Stockholm urban area.

The western parts border to Stockholm City and the eastern to Solna.

History
Sundbyberg was for along time only an area of agriculture. In 1863 almost the entire area was bought by Anders Petter Lfstrm, who began building houses there. Ten years later he had sold 40 lots.

Soon various industries were located to Sundbyberg.

Industry
The 33,000 inhabitants live in rougly 17,000 apartments. The industrial policy of the municipality is to provide one work per apartment, thus 17,000 jobs. So unlike other municipalities in Metropolitan Stockholm, Sundbyberg is not a bedroom suburb wherefrom people commute to Stockholm, but also a place commuted to from outside. In total, 12,000 commuters travel to or from Sundbyberg every day.

Solna : Sweden

Skänninge is a town in the province of Östergötland, Sweden. It has about 3500 inhabitants. The town is located on the Skena river and goes back to the 11th century, making it one of the oldest towns in Sweden.

Vadstena is a Municipality in Östergötland County, in southeast Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 183.2 km². Of the total population of 7668, 3751 are male, and 3917 are female. The population density of the community is 42 inhabitants per km². It is located by Lake Vättern. Vadstena Castle is one of Sweden’s best-preserved castles from the Vasa period (circ. 1520-1650). Here, in 1350, Saint Birgitta, also known as St Bridget of Sweden, founded the first monastery of the Bridgettine Order.

Söderköping : Sweden

Söderköping is a municipality in Östergötland County, in southeast Sweden. Covering an area of 671.9 km², the municipality has a total population of 13,936 (6,967 males and 6,969 females), giving a population density of 20.7 inhabitants per km². In 1595 the Riksdag of the Estates assembled at Söderköping and elected Duke Charles regent of Sweden in place of the Catholic Sigismund, who was king of both Sweden and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Söderköping stands at the eastern end of the Göta kanal, a 390-km long canal opened in 1832 to connect Gothenburg to the Baltic Sea by inland waterway.

Skara : Sweden

Skara is a Municipality in Västra Götaland County, in western Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 439.3 km². Of the total population of 18 305, 8 971 are male, and 9 334 are female. The population density of the community is 42 inhabitants per km². Skara was, according to local legend, founded in AD 988, making it one of the oldest cities in Sweden. At this time it was one of only two cities in what was to become Westrogothia, the other being Lödöse. In AD 1050 it became a bishop's see, which it remains to this day.
