Esslingen : Switzerland

Esslingen is a village in the municipality of Egg, Switzerland, in the canton of Zrich. It is located approximately 15 km southeast of Zrich. In the local dialect it is called Esslinge.

The population is 1560 (as of 2003). A monument commemorating World War II is located at Forch, a hill which also a popular recreation area for the people of Zrich.

The town centre of Zrich is connected to Esslingen with a special tramway the Forchbahn.

Esslingen is connected by the A52 motorroad to Zumikon and Hinwil.
