Baia de Arama is a small Romanian town located in the Wallachian county of Mehedinti with a population of 5,724. The mayor is Nistor Buican-Paulescu. The Brebina river runs through the town, and it contains many Dacian ruins and other things one would expect to find in a small Wallachian town.
Baia de Arama was once a strong copper mining town, however over the years many of the mines in the town have closed leaving roughly half the town unemployed.

It is located in the western part of the county, on the middle course of the Sasar River, at an average altitude of 228 metres.
